Spitfire Symphony Orchestra – Discover

I received an email this morning from Spitfire Audio to tell me that I could download the Spitfire Symphony Orchestra (SSO) Discover edition for free, and that there was an associated mini course Introduction to Writing for Orchestra with SSO Discover from ThinkSpace Education that was also free.

Needless to say, I went immediately to download the SSO discover edition and went to sign up for the course. I was very excited to explore this and see what was available, especially at the very attractive price of free. That is always good.

I was prepared to open this up in Cubase and try it out and proffer my words of wisdom, or inexperienced comments at least.

Unfortunately, I then realized I needed Kontakt to use it. That is not a problem as I have Kontakt installed, but I needed to make use of Native Access to add the serial number for the SSO and Native Access just will not run on my PC, no matter what I do.

Native Access did work once upon a time, but only after months of fighting, which then allowed me to get Kontakt installed, bu tthis time I opened Native Access and it said it required an update which it forced me to attempt and then failed to update and now I cannot open it at all.

So, a rather pointless post here, but I guess it is all part of the trials and tribulations associated with any sort of technology.
