Musical inspiration is much like inspiration for many creative pursuits, I would imagine. It can strike at any time, from a place, a person, a thing, a conversation, from just about anywhere, anytime.
Then again it may not come at all.
When we need to try to encourage inspiration, what do we do?
Aside from spending time with the people that make us happy, our nearest and dearest, what external steps can we take?
I guess it is different for each of us. So, what do I like to use as inspiration encouragers?
I like to spend time in nature, but especially by the sea. There is something special about being by the ocean. There is such a variety of inspirations. The coast can take on so many personalities depending upon the weather. We can experience calm, joy, fear, and an entire range of emotions.
The ocean can bring us peace and calm, but it can also rage with the awesome power of nature that is fearsome to see.
Then there is the forest, another place that inspires. The peace and calm, the sounds of the wind in the trees, the animals and birds calling to one another.
So, I find the ocean and the forest inspiring, amongst so many other places.
