Mini Wishlist

Right now there are not too many additional things that I feel that I need to get to supplement the things that I have at the moment that allow me to pursue my current goals and dreams, but as we always know, there are things that are not crucial but would be nice to have and that is the category in to which the following item falls.

It is the (paid link) Akai Professional APC Mini MK2 – USB MIDI Pad Controller for Clip Launching with Ableton Live Lite, 64 RGB Pads, Drum and Note Mode and MIDI Mixer.

I do not necessarily want it for its stated purpose and the fact that it is used for clip launching with Ableton live and has things set up for Ableton. I do not use Ableton as a DAW as I use Steinberg Cubase.

The Amazon listing for this item says the following (highly edited)

  • Complete Control – Ableton Live Clip Launching MIDI Controller, perfect for creative looping, mixing, home studio and live performing. Connect to Ableton Live and control all your studio equipment
  • APC Mini MK2 is pre-mapped for 1-to-1 integration with Ableton 11.2.7 onwards
  • Trigger everything from Loops, Vocals, and melodic samples for instant creativity
  • 9 Assignable Faders – With 8 assignable faders + 1 master fader instantly map to Ableton Live’s mixer for hands-on mix control of volume, pan, or devices.
  • Drum and Note Modes -The Drum sample mode features seamless integration with Ableton Drum Rack.
  • Instant Connectivity
  • DAW Integration – Comprehensive virtual instrument pack including Hybrid 3 – powerful polyphonic analog synth, Mini Grand – acoustic piano instrument, and Velvet — vintage electric piano instrument.

None of these features, however, are directly why I am interested in purchasing this item. The main reason that I would like this is that I have been reliably informed that it can be used to trigger the key switches to change between different articulations in the BBC Symphony Orchestra from Spitfire Audio.

That would be useful functionality to have.
