I am really looking forward to the final part of module two of the Mastering Orchestral Composition with BBCSO course from ThinkSpace Education.
This part of the module is an extended scoring demo by Guy Michelmore bringing together all the aspects learnt in module 2 regarding articulations, blending and layering sounds, and microphone positions.
The BBC Symphony Orchestra software from Spitfire Audio has a plethora of wonderful, lush sounds and seeing how these can be combined within the bounds of an actual scoring project is exciting.
I think one of the things when pursuing a course like this is seeing that application of all the disparate techniques that one learns. It is good to learn these things in isolation so that you can gain an understanding of each part, but there is nothing like seeing them employed in a real-world situation.
As I may have mentioned, numerous times above, I am really looking forward to this and am very excited to see this demonstration.
I will let you know how it goes and how I do on the final quiz that brings this module to a close.
