As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have been working on the module 3 assignment for the Mastering Orchestral Composition with BBCSO course from ThinkSpace Education.

I would not say that I have completed it flawlessly, far from it, but I have completed something.

There is much that I could do to improve it.

There are parts that I like, and parts that I am less than 100% happy with.

I think the transitions could be better.

I think the modulation could be more pronounced.

I think it could be more interesting.

These are all considerations to explore in my continuing learning and development. I am not wholly unsatisfied with it as a first effort.

The more I learn, the more I practice, the better things will become. At least that is the hope.

Here is the audio for your consideration and comment, should you wish to. The mixdown is certainly not perfect – the double basses sound like drums to me – but I hope that when I get to the mixing and mastering section of the course, I will learn to fix those things.
